This drama examines the personal, political, and racial dilemmas facing a group of college freshmen as they begin their first semester at Columbus University. Malik (Omar Epps) is an African-American student attending on a track scholarship; academics are not his strong suit, and he goes in thinking that his athletic abilities will earn him a free ride through college. Fudge (Ice Cube), a "professional student" who has been at Columbus for six years so far, becomes friendly with Malik and challenges his views about race and politics in America, while Professor Phipps (Laurence Fishburne), a black man who teaches political science, firmly tells Malik that he will not be graded on a different standard either because of his race or his ability to run quickly. With Deja (Tyra Banks), Malik finds a girlfriend, a tutor, and a training partner all rolled into one.

Meanwhile, Kristen (Kristy Swanson), a somewhat naive young woman from California, meets a boy named Billy (Jay R. Ferguson) after both have had too much to drink at a beer blast; Kristen soon becomes a victim of date rape and becomes involved with a campus feminist group to deal with the painful experience. While working with the women's group, Kristen gets to know Taryn (Jennifer Connelly), a strong but understanding woman who is also a lesbian, and she finds herself becoming attracted to her.

Remy (Michael Rapaport) is a confused young man from Idaho who feels lost in the multi-cultural atmosphere of Columbus. He is approached by Scott (Cole Hauser), a member of a group of racist skinheads, who believe that Remy is a perfect candidate to help carry out his group's violent goals.

    Love & Basketball (2000)

Love & Basketball is a 2000 romantic drama film, written and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. This film stars Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan. It is the story of two next-door neighbors in Los Angeles, California who grew up loving basketball and, eventually, each other. Gina Prince-Bythewood, a former college athlete, writes a tale of about love, and basketball. The film became a cult favorite.

    Plot Summary

Monica (Sanaa Lathan) and Quincy (Omar Epps) have wanted to be professional basketball stars since they were kids. Monica has had to work hard to establish herself as a presence, while Quincy was born with natural star potential. As the two struggle to reach their goals of playing professionally, they must also deal with their emotions for each other.

Monica is a fiercely driven, hot-tempered tomboy who gives her all for basketball. Quincy, the son of a NBA legend, has NBA dreams of his own. Next-door neighbors since first grade, they start as rivals and grow into lovers and friends. The romantic complications follow a familiar game plan, but the film throws a fascinating spotlight onto the contrast between men's and women's basketball. While Quincy plays college ball on huge courts to cheering, sold-out crowds, Monica sweats tears, and endures sheer physical dedication in front of tiny audiences in small gyms and second-rate auditoriums.

The story is set in the late 1980s, years before the establishment of the WNBA, so Monica's prospects for professional basketball lie exclusively in the European leagues, while Quincy steps into the pros at home. Monica's struggle over Quincy's opens eyes to her unique challenges with a sharp, savvy contrast. Alfre Woodard costars as Monica's harping mom (always trying to get her to be more ladylike) and Dennis Haysbert is Quincy's philandering father.

    Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

Halloween: Resurrection is a 2002 horror film, directed by Rick Rosenthal. It is the eighth film in the Halloween franchise.

    Plot

At the beginning of the film, it is three years after the events of Halloween: H20, and we find Laurie Strode confined to a mental institution. A retcon is established in which Laurie did not really decapitate Michael Myers at the end of the film, but rather a paramedic with whom Myers switched clothing and his mask. Laurie pretends to be heavily medicated, but in reality dodges her pills and prepares herself for the inevitable confrontation with Michael Myers that she knows will come. When Myers does appear, Laurie lures him into a trap, but before she can kill him for good, he turns the tables on her and she presumably dies after being stabbed and falling from the roof of the institution.

Soon after, a group of six college students win a competition to spend Halloween night in the childhood home of Michael Myers. Their mission is to find out what led him to kill. The investigation is done in the style of the MTV reality show, Fear and is broadcast live on the internet. The participants think it's only for fun and that the stunt will earn them some publicity and scholarship money. While in the house, the event goes horribly wrong as Michael returns home and he has no intention of letting them leave alive. Soon, all but one of the college students are murdered. Using her PDA and penpal on the outside, Sara escapes. Ultimately, only Sara Moyer and Freddie Harris, the host of the show, survive.
